Localization Workflow

1. Receipt of source files through FTP, Zipped files, CD-ROM, MO, etc.

There are three types of source files below.

• DTP, OFFICE and other Word Processor: FrameMaker, InDesign, PageMaker, QuarkXpress, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.
• Tagged Documents: HTML, XML and SGML, etc.
• Help File: Winhelp (rtf), Webhelp (html), HTMLhelp (html), etc.

2. Analysis and comfirmation of contents in the source files

• Analysis performed with TRADOS, HelpQA, HTMLQA, etc.
• Evaluation on translation, desktop publishing and engineering

We identify the quality of the previous translation, existence of translation memories, layout information to be checked, errors that may exist in the original files.
We produce the converted ttx files and analyzed word count. The translators are guaranteed to perform efficient and quality translation work.

3. Quotation and contract

Based on the above process, we generate quotation and project timetable.
Non-disclosure agreement and/or project contract are signed.

4. Procedure after acceptance of purchase order

• Kick-off Meeting: we discuss the details of the project with a client.
• Briefing for product knowledge from the client
• Assignment of In-house staff: project manager, QA specialist, in-house translators
• Assignment of outsource staff: freelance translators

5. Translation work

We manage the translators and/or partner agencies in our domestic and offshore resource network, and we make collective effort to produce the high quality translation through our experience, knowledge base and tools.

6. Production, editing and delivery

By agreed date, we send the deliverables after editing, layout, image manipulation, file conversion, compilation, etc. as required.

7. Production of translation memory and feedback

We constantly update the translation memories to achieve the highest translation quality. The next revision of the product should earn privilege of getting high quality, lower costs and shorter turnaround time with the quality translation memories. The post mortem, education and feedback should bring us more effective and efficient performance in future.
